Horrified Without a Portable Generator
The weather report from the day before already had me worried. Bad storms had been foretasted and last year we lost electricity for a full two days. After that happened I bought two shiny portable power generators to be certain that if it ever occurred a second time we would be prepared. Problem was, I couldn’t recall where I had placed them and the storm was already on us.
I have got to locate the portable generator. Everyone go to the downstairs room, I’ll be right there, as soon as I discover it and get it working. Ok honey, please be quick. (kisses for everyone) Jogging towards the shed I could feel the hurricane going this way. Off in the distance, black and blue, weird reds and greens twirling together. It was right after two in the afternoon and it was plainly pitch black outside.
I fumbled through the stuff that was flung everywhere, mumbling under my breath about how I should keep a cleaner storage. All I could think was, please protect my kids. Ah there it is,the portable generator. Now where is the petro can, I know it’s half full, I just filled it last week, and I haven’t used it since then. Oh wait the machine should be full. Yes it is.
Fantastic! okay, now pull the cord, and plug this power connector into it and we should be finished. This electric portable generator is great, I am so glad I finally got this thing. (It roars to life) Ok, plug this in. Whala! Ok, where is the big house plug? There it is. Plug it in. Ok! Alright then, back to the family!
