Eating out does not have to Mean Abandoning your Diet
Everyone enjoys going out to a restaurant. We may be celebrating a special occasion, meeting up with friends, or simply to getting out of the house. However, no matter what the reason for our outing may be, many of us tend to order foods which are laden with calories and fat. This does not have to be the case. Given that we love going out and staying away from our kitchen at least once a week, it is wise to be aware of healthy food alternatives found at the local restaurants. In this article I will provide you several healthy meal ideas that surely appear on any restaurant menu.
The first healthy meal alternative is fish. Of course this does not mean that you should order fried fish and chips. It means ordering grilled fish with a side of wild rice. This type of a meal is extremely delicious and healthy. Everyone knows that fish is rich on omega 3 fatty acids which are very beneficial for heart health. Some important key words when ordering your food include: baked, grilled, broiled, roasted, steamed and garden fresh. For instance, if your favorite grilled chicken comes with a side of fries, ask the waiter to substitute the fries with a side of steamed or garden fresh veggies. Furthermore, you should always opt for skinless meats and stay away from anything fried.
Following these few simple rules can surely help you lose weight or maintain your current dress size. When you choose to eat fried foods or foods which are laden with hidden fats, not even the best diet pills (such as hoodia) will help you shed the extra weight; making the right choice starts with you, so remember to be smart when eating out.
